Veterans Helping Veterans

MISSION STATEMENT

The Central Florida Veterans Association's is a coalition of Veterans organizations, concerned veterans, and concerned citizens, whose primary purpose is to provide an umbrella to pursue goals, veterans benefits, promote the political views of Veterans, and provide a communications network for the Central Florida Veteran's Community. In doing this, the "CFVA" is making sure that veterans are given their just veteran's benefits and that all veterans are kept abreast of current local, state and national events. The "CFVA" provides a strong leader in the community for all veterans, civic and fraternal organizations. "CFVA" participates as a whole unit thereby giving recognition to all veterans of all wars and eras, who have served this Great Country.

Some of Veterans Organizations are:

1st Cavalry Division Assn., Air Force Assn. Air Force Sergeants Assn., All Navy Women's National Alliance, American Ex Prisoners of War, American Gold Star Mothers, American Legion Posts, AMVETS Posts, Bahia Shrine Legion of Honor, Brevard County Veterans, Casselberry Veterans, Inc., Daughters of the American Revolution, Disabled American Veterans, Inc., Fleet Reserve, Italian American Veterans, Jewish War Veterans, Korean War Veterans Assn., Marine Corps League, Military Chaplains, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Military Order of the World Wars, National Association of Uniforms Services, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Scottish American Military Society, Seminole County Veterans, The Retired Officers Assn., VFW Posts, Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc. Chapters, Vietnam Veterans of Central Florida, Women's Army Corps, and the Women's Veterans Organization, Inc. This list is just a sample of the various veteran organizations that are represented by "CFVA". Beside these veteran groups we also have individual members whose sole purpose is maintaining and seeking benefits for deserving veterans and their families.

The Central Florida area has more than 250,000 veterans. Uniting under the "CFVA" umbrella, a formidable force is created to deal with the veteran's concerns and influence the political process governing veterans' issues. Today, fewer veterans are serving in local, county, and state positions. Veterans have less representation in the House of Representatives and the Senate of the United States than any other time in the nation's history. Thus, causing the veterans to unite in their efforts to be heard by our elected officials. While "CFVA" is the largest veterans' organization of its kind in the Central Florida Community, it continually seeks to increase its membership. A veteran's organization does not have to give up its individual identity when it joins. In fact, it's the diversity of the organizations which give the "CFVA" a broader spectrum of issues and its membership a unique understanding of other veteran organizational goals.

Please note that it is not necessary for you to reside in Central Florida or for your veteran's organization to be located in this area to be a member. We encompass the greater Central Florida area with our main goals and try to assist all veterans of all wars and all military branches

The "CFVA" works very closely with the surrounding communities and has been instrumental in pursuing and establishing a liaison with the City of Orlando, Orange County, and the other local governments to bring the Veterans needs and concerns to the forefront.
